Why I Teach

Teaching as a Subversive Activity taught me the value of asking the right questions, seeking the truth and being a bit skeptical. We need to stop talking through each other and learn to talk with each other and to see "the other side"...education gives us that opportunity.

Industry Experience

As an elected Village Trustee in Oak Park, Illinois I was Villager of the Year in 2003. In other public service, I chaired the Community Relations Commission; served on the Diversity Task Force and was a Police Oversight Commissioner.  I also served on the staff of legislators in both the Arizona State House of Representatives and State Senate. I was a radio announcer on KCEE AM/FM and a news reporter for the NPR station at Univ. Ariz.
